Why is my compressed video still too large to upload?
Check the compression mode, MB versus MiB, the downloaded file and destination rules before compressing your video again.

Start by comparing the actual downloaded file with the limit shown by the destination. Upload rejection does not always mean compression failed: the selected file, account rules, message size or media compatibility can also be responsible.
Check which compression mode you used
Quality and bitrate modes do not promise a fixed output size. If your destination has a hard file limit, use target-size mode in the custom-size tool. A completed target-size result should not exceed its selected byte ceiling. If it does, preserve the target value and actual file size for support; do not treat it as normal behavior.
Compare MB, MiB and exact bytes
25MB is 25,000,000 bytes; 25MiB is 26,214,400 bytes. A file below 25MiB can still be above a 25MB limit. Read the unit beside the target and inspect the downloaded file’s exact size. The rounded size label alone is not enough for a strict boundary.
Make sure you selected the downloaded result
The original remains on your device. Download the compressed result, inspect its size, and select that file in the destination’s upload picker. A renamed source is still the source. If you compress again, check which result you downloaded instead of repeatedly uploading the original.
Check the destination, account and whole message
For Discord, use the attachment limit displayed for your account. For email, distinguish a single file from total attachments and the whole encoded message; other attachments share the allowance. A video under a nominal limit can still be rejected. Use the dedicated Discord or email guide below, and check the receiver’s rules too. A sharing link is an alternative when sending an attachment is not essential.
If the size fits but upload or playback still fails
Check format, codec, duration and the destination’s other rules. This service exports H.264 MP4 with AAC when the source has sound, but that does not prove acceptance by every platform. Preview the downloaded video. If the page says the compression service is unavailable, retry the access check later; repeatedly choosing a smaller target does not repair an unavailable service.
Common questions
Should I keep reducing the target until an upload works?
First check the rejection message. A format, account or service problem may persist at any size.
Should a successful target-size result exceed its target?
No. If the upper bound cannot be met, the task should fail. Report a successful result that exceeds its ceiling with the target and exact downloaded size.
Why can email reject a video that appears small enough?
The limit can include other attachments and message encoding, and sender and receiver rules may differ. Leave room or send a sharing link if an actual attachment is not required.
